EA has announced that it will lift the lid on the newest addition to the Battlefield franchise later this month during a dedicated reveal event.
The publisher announced its plans at this year's GDC held in San Francisco, teasing the announcement and confirming that it will indeed host the first reveal of Battlefield 4.
Meanwhile, official artwork for the title has made its way online and indicates that Battlefield 4 will again be staged within a modern setting, much like the franchise's previous entry. Whilst unsurprising, it may serve as a disappointment for core fans of the franchise, as the original Battlefield was staged during the Second World War, with a follow up unfolding in the Vietnam War.
The artwork offers multiple similarities to the titles predecessor, Battlefield 3, which would indicate the new title will closely its former given its commercial success. Given the appearance of vehicles in the image, it would also seem likely that the new title will again boast a wide range military vehicles that players are able to control.
Whilst the new image would indicate that the new game will be a direct follow-on of the previous Battlefield's events, we'll know for sure come March 26th.
