Capcom has announced that its mysterious PS4 exclusive, Deep Down, will be a free-to-play title.
The news comes from an announcement at the Tokyo Game Show, passed on by Sony Worldwide Studios boss Shuhei Yoshida via Twitter. According to Yoshida, Capcom also revealed plans to host a beta for the game "near the launch of PS4 in Japan", which is February 2014. No further details were disclosed. Capcom recently released fresh images of the game following new information from Sony's PS4 Japan press conference, where it was announced the game actually takes place in a futuristic New York setting.
Capcom also released a new trailer, along with news the game will support online multiplayer for up to four players.
The procedurally generated dungeon crawler is expected to release in 2014.
