Sega has announced a worldwide Castle of Illusion Featuring Mickey Mouserelease date of September 4, 2013.
The game will be priced at £9.99/€12.99/$14.99 on PS3 and PC and 1200 Microsoft Points on Xbox 360.
Announced in April, the title is billed as "a complete re-imagining" of the 1990 Mega Drive/Genesis side-scrolling classic.
It features the original storyline, in which players are challenged to save Minnie from the evil witch Mizrabel, but promises updated visuals and new gameplay mechanics.
For a limited time only, European customers who pre-order Castle of Illusion on PS3 will receive an exclusive downloadable emulated version of the original Mega Drive game, one pre-order exclusive dynamic theme and three avatars. These will be redeemable once the HD game releases.
The title features seven distinct worlds, each of which concludes with a boss battle. Defeat all of them and players will unlock the final area in the Castle of Illusion.
