Slasher has posted an entry into the Neoflash Coding Contest;
Blob Volleyball is a heavily physics-based volleyball copycat using the incredible JelloPhysics library in which you must fling the ball over to the opponents side of the net. For every successful point against the opponent, you gain 50 points; and for every score your opponent gets, you lose 50 points. You must not allow your score to go below 0, or else it is game over for you. Each opponent requires 5 successful serves against them in order to move on to the next opponent. This game features a loopable song which can be placed in the ms0:/MUSIC/ folder, and this game can also play your favourite mp3s located in the ms0:/MUSIC/ folder as well.
The controls are as follows:
Left -> Move your blob to the left
Right -> Move your blob to the right
Up -> Jump your blob
Circle -> Drop ball for your serve
Right Trigger -> "Bulge" your blob to fling the ball
SQUARE + (Left Trigger or Right Trigger) -> Switch between the currently playing mp3s
Select -> Pause the game
If you have the motion kit plugged in, the only thing supported so far is tilting left/right to move your blob. You may also fling the psp upwards to jump your blob.
This game also provides a multiplayer mode that requires 2 people to play on one psp. The controls are as follows for multiplayer games:
Left -> Move player1 blob to the left
Right -> Move player1 blob to the right
Up -> Jump player1 blob
Down -> Drop ball for player1 serve
Left Trigger -> "Bulge" player1 blob to fling the ball
Square -> Move player2 blob to the left
Circle -> Move player2 blob to the right
Triangle -> Jump player2 blob
Cross -> Drop ball for player2 serve
Right Trigger -> "Bulge" player2 blob to fling the ball
Select -> Pause the game
You can view a video of the game here.
(I will also provide a screenshot in a bit)
This game should be compatible in both the 1.50 and 3.xx/4.xx kernel.
Alot of the inspiration came from a game called slime volleyball which is readily available on the internet, so I would like to give a nice big shout out to that game.
I would also like to formally thank
- Thanks caliarbor for MP3 ME Player & sakya for LightMP3
- Thanks Raphael for motion kit driver & support
- Thanks Drakon for both porting the JelloPhysics library and for all of the help you provided to me, I couldn't have done it without you!
