Sony has dropped another opportunity to go on record regarding the Playstation 3 and its launch details at the Taipei Game Show. Instead of revealing a working console or describing hardware or other details, the Japanese electronics giant had a console trapped in a display case accompanied by the hideous controller which, apparently, the company is still hot on.
The lack of PS3 news at the Taipei show has sparked further comments regarding the company's schedule and Sony's Asian boss, Tetsuhiko Yasuda, told the Mainichi Daily News that even Sony itself is not yet decided on the final launch date. The latest assumption behind Sony's reluctance to release the console in spring as initially expected has to do with piracy issues and the company deciding to take some time to protect its product from any danger.
The next stop on the PS3 tour is the Game Developers Conference in March which Phil Harrison is addressing and as a result it is hoped that some PS3 news will have to be divulged.
