Toronto developer Capy used the official PlayStation blog today to announce its PlayStation Network game, Critter Crunch. Already available on iPhone, Critter Crunch won IGN's Best Wireless Puzzle Game award back in 2007. Capy describes the game mechanics as a "food chain," requiring players to feed cute little animals to each other until they explode.
"It's exactly as cute as it is horrible and sad, just like nature itself!" says Capy.
In addition to the single-player puzzle and adventure modes there will be co-op and versus multiplayer games, both local and online. This won't be a quick and dirty port of an iPhone game, apparently – the visuals are being spruced up for presentation in 1080p. The hand-drawn graphics unfold at 60 frames per second.
Critter Crunch should be out this summer for under $10.
