The new-look PSN store is a mighty fine beast, but it can chug a little.
Not anymore, though. Spong reports that Sony has released a 26MB patch that not only increases the speed at which users can browse its catalogue but should also stamp out erroneous error messages.
The HTML5-based store design was rolled out in October and offers a far more modern and visually led experience than the old design, which was well overdue a revamp.
The revamp comes as Sony increases the emphasis it places on the digital distribution of not only ‘small’ titles on the service but also of bigger, triple-A releases.
On Christmas Eve Sony even discounted the price of recent release Far Cry 3 to just £24.99, meaning that for the first time PSN was able to compete with retail on a modern title.
