Following Nintendo and Microsoft’s lead, Sony has revealed Black Friday US sales data for its hardware.
The PS3 sold over 525,000 units during the week of November 18th-24th, with the PS Vita moving 160,000 devices in the same period.
The sales numbers for Sony’s systems were of course bolstered by discounted bundle offerings at retail and online stores during the latter part of the week.
PS3 Black Friday bundle sales were up 15 per cent, and total PS3 sales (which counts hardware, software, and peripherals) increased by nine per cent stacked up against 2011 figures. Latin America specifically saw a 200 per cent year-over-year sales growth increase.
In comparison, Xbox 360 moved 750,000 consoles during (almost) the same period. Wii U, perhaps hobbled by its own lack of stock, moved 400,000 units around the same timeframe. Nintendo also reported 500,000 portable devices sold between DS and 3DS lines.
