Proteus will release for PlayStation 3 and PS Vita later this month boasting new features exclusive to consoles.
Originally released for PC and Mac in January, Proteus is a procedurally generated exploration game which, according to co-creator Ed Key, "lurks somewhere on the shady fringes of what it means to be a game." The Sony editions were announced in July and will come with new features. For the PS Vita version, users can generate a world based on their current, real world geographical location.
Meanwhile, both the PS Vita and PS3 versions can generate islands based on the current date, taking into account weather conditions.
The port will also implement the PS Vita's backpad, though more details on how the functionality will work will be revealed in the near future.
