Analysts reckon that PS3 will rack up around 4 million units sales in Europe in its first year following this Friday's launch.
Reported on TimesOnline.co.uk, it's estimated the UK market will contribute 1.5 million of the projected figure.
Sony has 220,000 PS3 units ready to drop on Blighty on March 23, and unlike with Xbox 360 and Wii launches shortages aren't expected to be a problem. But don't equate that with poor demand, analysts have said.
"The lack of shortage is supply driven; what Sony has shipped will sell", Screen Digest analyst Nick Parker has commented.
