Sony has noted that play and chat on PS3 are incompatible.
Here are the explanations: Shuhei Yoshida, president of Sony Worldwide Studios, tells us that all available memory is swallowed up by the games during operation. One can understand that developers prefer to use the memory for other applications more interesting.
