PS3 owners can start downloading Call of Duty: Ghosts on their PS3 right now.
Sony has announced that pre-loads for the digital version of the game are now live on PSN, meaning that gamers can (theoretically) have the game installed to their system and ready to play at 00:01 tomorrow morning (Tuesday November 5th).
Note to that those who have paid for the digital PS3 version will be entitled to buy the PS4 version digitally for just £9.99 when it arrives alongside PS4 in the UK on November 29th.
Multiplayer stats and progress will be carried over from one version to the next.
Of course, this all depends on the digital release of Ghosts going smoother than Grand Theft Auto V’s did on Sony’s service. It’s all recapped here, but effectively not only was the pre-load date delayed (obviously not an issue here as the pre-load is now live) but there were also massive problems with users finding that the 18GB download was corrupted – often having spent hours downloading it.
Then, of course, there were alleged performance issues with the digital version compared to the disc release, although these were never officially acknowledged.
