Janco Partners analyst Mike Hickey has been telling investors good things about the 'new' EA.
Encouraged by the publisher's current franchise portfolio, Hickey said EA has a number of "mega franchises" on its hands and potentially a "Modern Warfare killer" in the form of Battlefield.
"The company has been plagued over the last several years by franchise fatigue and new IP market fragility; examples include: Madden, NFS, Mirrors Edge, Army of Two, Spore, etc., which we believe they have stabilised and / or eliminated from their forward game slate," he wrote in an investor note.
"In addition, we're encouraged by the strong sales performance from emerging mega franchises like Mass Effect, Dragon Age and Battlefield (we believe a potential Modern Warfare killer).
"Finally," he added, "we remain optimistic for potential upside from games like Medal of Honor (a prior power franchise), Bulletstorm, Dead Space 2 and the unannounced new IP (potential fiscal '12 release) from the newly formed Respawn Entertainment studio through EA Partners."
You have to agree with the man to a point - EA's got a shedload of tasty titles on the market and in the works.
